Final Categories Announced
for the 2nd Annual International 3D Awards

The International 3D Awards Committee has announced the final categories that will be presented at the Awards ceremony on the evening of 5th May at the 3D Festival, Copenhagen . Several categories will be re-opened and extended until July 2004, with more awards to be presented in August during SIGGRAPH 2004 in Los Angeles . More details about these categories will be released on the 3D Awards website in May 2004.

"Although we had over 900 entries for consideration in this year's 3D Awards, the bulk of these were entered for only a few of the more popular categories," explains Leonard Teo , Chairman of the International 3D Awards Committee. "As some of the categories were truly lacking in numbers, the Committee felt a necessity to extend the awards and present them at a later date."

3D Awards Copenhagen Categories:
- Commercial
- Student 3D Animation
- Short Film
- Music Video Visual Effects
- Feature Film Visual Effects
- 3D Animated Feature Film
- Television Visual Effects
- 3D Game Cinematics
- Technological Innovation

Other categories will proceed as such:

The Architectural Visualization (Still) and Architectural Visualization (Animation) categories will be extended and the awards presented at the CGarchitect.com event at SIGGRAPH 2004 in Los Angeles .

The 3D Art (Still) category will be extended and the award presented at the Ballistic Publishing EXPOSÉ 2 Awards ceremony during SIGGRAPH 2004 in Los Angeles .

The Game of the Year category will be extended and the award presented to the winning game company later this year. Details will be announced after the 3D Awards' Copenhagen ceremony.

The Logos and Idents category will not be awarded in 2004 due to a general lack of entries.
